Dictionary of art

This DICTIONARY OF ART presents the classification and systematization of the stylistic phenomena from the ancient times till nowadays. Generally, any classification, ordering, or description may include besides objective elements and conclusions, also subjective ones. As a result, the author tried to keep a certain balance among the different statements presented in the studied bibliography. The DICTIONARY OF ART is mainly dedicated to the European arts. It also tries to explain the close links of the post- Columbian American arts with the arts of the Old Continent. The references about the arts of other continents are given only in order to explain the phenomena observed on the main territories. The book includes 2289 terms, 10 plates, an index of 1623 names, a selective bibliography with 227 titles and 14 original explanatory tables
